School Closings:

Arrangements have been made to notify the general public through radio and Cablevision Channel 12 whenever schools are to be closed because of weather conditions, or in the event of an emergency evacuation situation. If our schools are to be closed, the announcement will be broadcast intermittently over the following stations between 6 and 8 a.m.

WLVG 96.1 FM      WBAZ 101.7 FM      WLNG 92.1 FM
Channel 12 News    WALK 97.5 FM       WRIV 1390 AM

Whenever you are in doubt about the schools being open, you are urged to listen to one of these stations.
Also, parents and staff will be notified via telephone alerts regarding the emergency closing of schools.

Sex Offender Notification:

In order to provide parents/guardians and residents with information concerning convicted sex offenders who are living or working in this district, our school district is now benefiting from a no-cost sex offender alert notification program. Parents for Megan's Law (PFML) will email district residents, who have registered, informing them of any new sex offender's presence and direct them to their website where they can access a full copy of the notification.

Email Notification Program The Parentsformeganslaw.org website provides sex offender email alerts for New York State. After registering for the program and selecting specific zip codes, you will receive email alerts informing you of the offender's name, date of birth, zip code and a link to the page on the website where you can view the entire notification, including photo and maps.
Resources for Parents In order to provide parents/guardians and residents with information concerning convicted sex offenders who are living in this district, our school district put together a list of free online resources (see below). Please note that these sites are not maintained by the district. Any opinions posted on these links do not represent those of the Tuckahoe Common School District.
